Originally due to be completed by June 2014, the Programme received additional resources, allowing it to extend its activities by another year.
MATEHETSZ (Association of Hungarian Talent Support Organizations) published new calls in November. The support of the winners began in January 2015.
The key objectives of the extension of the Talent Bridges Programme are the following:
• new methods in the collective talent support programmes, with the inclusion of gifted youngsters, teachers, parents and mentoring peers;
• individual personal support and career counselling for outstandingly talented youngsters; resources for training, competitions and study tours in the European Union;
• programmes for underprivileged young persons and children with special educational needs;
• support of the relationships between talented youngsters and the job market through mentoring programmes (Talent Market);
• talent-support-oriented training for teachers, adults, young adults and mentors;
• development of IT-related possibilities for increasing chances and compensating handicaps, and their inclusion in the procedures of talent support; and
• intensive communication with a view to strengthening the user-friendliness of Hungarian society.
The programme is overseen by Project Manager Péter Bajor, President of MATEHETSZ. The professional leader of the Talent Bridges Programme is László Balogh PhD (psychology) President of the Hungarian Talent Support Society and MATEHETSZ.
